a walk in presque isle

In an effort to keep up a semi-regular photo habit, I went for a walk in Presque Isle yesterday. There’s not much particularly interesting in Presque Isle to photograph, however, I think that forcing myself to take photos of random things makes good practice.

I went on a similar walk last year (Walking Around Presque Isle).

A sign attached to a railroad track says "DERAIL".
This “DERAIL” sign is attached directly to the railroad track. I’m not sure what the purpose of the sign is, other than the indicate that striking the sign might actually detail a train…
A streetlamp.
A blurry shot of two people walking along a sidewalk by Riverside Park.
Concrete stairs with metal pipes as handrails.
These concrete stairs are found at intervals on the bank of the Prestile Stream along Riverside Park. I’m not sure what purpose they serve since they don’t lead to anything but the grassy waterline.
A old weathered wooden post.
I’m not sure what these posts are for, but they surround the concrete stairs along the bank of Prestile Stream in Riverside Park.
A pink flower blooming from a tree by the river.
I found these nice blossoms on a nearby tree.
A cigarette filter and rubber band on the pavement.
I felt like this image made a nice contrast to the pretty flowers I had just photographed.

Graffiti marks the corner where these two buildings meet.
Some graffiti on a disused garage.
A yellow painted fire hydrant, now spotted with rust.

This actually says "Dickson".
