We’ve had an unusually high number of deer sightings in our backyard this year. I think this morning marked the third or fourth time we have seen at least two deer in our back yard; mothers and their young or mated couples.

This morning it was a pair of deer, one buck and one doe. They seemed very young but were presumably a mated pair. The buck hung back in the cover of trees for a bit while the doe proceeded to wander further into the yard, munching on the various grasses and clover as she went.

We watched each other through the back window for a while until the couple decided it was time to move on. The doe did a playful little nuzzle before darting away.
