Here are some photos I’ve taken over the past few days.

We start, of course, with Jeannie.

One of Jeannie’s favorite things to do is sunbathe in the driveway. Something about the warm pavement in direct sunlight has attracted every dog we’ve ever had to this spot.

After work the other day I went down to the river looking for Kim. She had kayaked down the river to a nearby island, so I snapped a few photos while I was down there.

These are the steps I built to make the journey up and down the river bank easier. I built them several years ago and are in dire need of repair.

Here is one of those cedar shingles on the river bed. A hundred years ago the cedar shingle business was pretty big here in Caribou. Many of them ended up in the river, waiting for someone to come around and collect them. They are almost indistinguishable from rocks unless you know what to look for.

This is the fourth or fifth skull Kim has found down by the river over the years. They are all the same — maybe a fox or muskrat or something.

Our pride flag hangs by the roadside. They’re aren’t too many of them visible in this part of the country.

Here is one of the wagon wheels we’ve collected from the river over the years. This one is made entirely of metal and so has held up pretty well.

Later that night I got a decent shot of the moon from our driveway.

Aaaand one last shot of Jeannie.
