I went out a little early this morning to capture some photos from the Fort Street Bridge while the river was still foggy.
The fog over the river gave the old power plant a ghostly appearance — fitting, given that it’s slated to be torn down to make way for the Caribou Riverfront Redevelopment project.

As many times as I’ve crossed this bridge, it’s an entirely different experience crossing it on foot. There’s something unnerving about the way the bridge bounces subtly as larger vehicles pass over it.

The road on the east side of the bridge appears to ascend to nowhere in this fog.

And this truck appears to descend from nowhere as it approaches the bridge from the east.

A random lucky number appeared on the bridge sidewalk.

An ATV trail is visible just off the east end of the bridge. The trail is nicely framed by trees and features a small wooden bridge, making for a picturesque scene.

This shot was taken from Route 1 heading south (I pulled over to take the photo).
