The skies above Caribou put on quite a show this morning. When I woke up and caught a glimpse of this out of our bedroom window, I ran straight out of bed, grabbed my drone from the office, and bolted into the driveway — still in my underwear — to capture these photos.

In case you’re wondering, yes, I felt all 33 degrees as I ran across the pavement in my underwear, hoping no cars would pass by in those few seconds.

I love that the colors are reflected in the glassy waters below.
Distant mountains are put into sharp contrast by the glow of the horizon.
While there are still some brightly colored leaves left, you can see that many trees are bare and the overall color of fall is beginning to fade into the coming winter.
Here’s the homestead and the bare parts of the riverbed that we were walking on just last night.

Another shot looking into town. A lot of people say they don’t like the sight of solar farms, but I find something appealing about the neat rows of panels. They are just another interesting thing to look at among all the other human-made things we’re surrounded by every day.
